The city lies between lakes Näsijärvi and Pyhäjärvi, with the Pyynikki ridge running between them. Tampere is called the sauna capital of the world: Rajaportti, Rauhaniemi and Kuuma at Laukontori are all close by. If you want your own sauna, nine of our homes have one.

The tram takes you from the centre to the edges of town, the Market Hall serves morning coffee and the Metso main library has time for the newspaper. Sonetti is next door to Metso, and Aleksanterinkatu is right in the centre near the railway station.
